A day in the sun Castyourleads Casting Day

The Sun shone on Cogden beach for the Castyourlead Casting day. I like to keep numbers to about 10 anglers as then I can spend a reasonable amount of time with each angler

The format is such that the anglers can mix and fish while I work my way along the beach looking at their casting style and distance.

I was on the beach for a one to one session with mike at 7.30am just before the main event. We started to take a look at the improvements he had made to his cast since his previous lesson that got me warmed up for the day!

People started turning up early to start fishing Shane and his dog, Simon, David and his mate, Lee and Barry  together with Mike

A few plaice  fish were caught and lost  with barry catching a nice sole over over 2lb in day light

To see how they got on have a look at the video on the website. Most  anglers tended to rush the cast so once they slowed down and put the power in late things improved. All in all it was a good day and everybody had fun, a few friendships were made, I look forward to holding another casting day in the spring ready for the early plaice run!
